Cooperation with foreign institutions is a challenging part of RILCA's academic expansion. With a long period of academic stability, RILCA has established solid relationship with many institutions. These have resulted in lecturer and knowledge exchange projects, research funding, scholarships, collaborative research, Thai language courses for foreign students, and Thai language and cultural programs overseas.
RILCA exchanges academic knowledge and research findings with many faculties in different countries such as:

Realising the importance of international cooperation, RILCA has encouraged its staff and students to gain knowledge and experience through academic exchanges in such countries as Vietnam, Japan, United Kingdom, Hungary, India, Australia, France and United States.
In addition to the faculties mentioned above, RILCA has been formulating international collaborations with other non-academic institutions for various activities. One co-operative venture of particular note is with SIL International, based in Dallas, USA. On a regular basis, specialists from SIL International are welcomed by the institute as visiting lecturers in both the MA and PhD programs. SIL International also provides assistance to the institute in the publication of journals and in research projects.
RILCA has also collaborated with the South and Southeast Asian Association for the Study of Culture and Religion (SSEASR), the Embassy of India, SEAMEO, CARE International, and Save the Children (UK) in numerous initiatives such as organizing international conferences, seminars and special forums.
In addition, UNESCO, UNICEF and SEASREP have been providing scholarships for RILCA lecturers and students to attend workshops and training courses in the field of languages in neighboring countries as well as scholarships for students from neighboring countries to study Thai language and culture at RILCA.
