การบรรยายทางวิชาการระดับนานาชาติ Memory and Cultural Heritage

รองศาสตราจารย์ ดร.นันทิยา ดวงภุมเมศ ผู้อำนวยการสถาบันฯ กล่าวเปิดงานการบรรยายทางวิชาการระดับนานาชาติ ในหัวข้อ “Memory and Cultural Heritage: Chinese migration to South America in historical perspective” โดยมี Professor Maria Montt Strabucchi จาก Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, Núcleo Milenio ICLAC ประเทศชิลี เป็นวิทยากรพิเศษมาพูดคุย แลกเปลี่ยนประสบการณ์เกี่ยวกับการอพยพของชาวจีนไปยังอเมริกาใต้ในมุมมองทางประวัติศาสตร์ ในวันที่ 3 กุมภาพันธ์ 2568 ผ่านระบบออนไลน์ Webex

การบรรยายครั้งนี้เป็นส่วนหนึ่งของโครงการสัมมนานานาชาติ International workshop “Inter-Asia Engagement” โดยมี รองศาสตราจารย์ ดร. มรกต ไมยเออร์ และผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์ ดร. สมรักษ์ ชัยสิงห์กานานนท์ เป็นหัวหน้าโครงการฯ ซึ่งเป็นความร่วมมือระหว่าง สถาบันวิจัยภาษาและวัฒนธรรมเอเชีย มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล โดย กลุ่มวิจัย Society, Culture and Heritage in Asia Research Group (SCHAR) และหลักสูตรปริญญาเอก สาขาวิชาพหุวัฒนธรรมศึกษา ร่วมกับ Global Humanities Alliance (GHA) – Public History และ Chinese Studies ภายใต้ ภาควิชาวัฒนธรรม (Department of Cultures) มหาวิทยาลัยเฮลซิงกิ ประเทศฟินแลนด์  โดยมีเป้าหมายในการเสริมสร้างเครือข่ายทางวิชาการในภูมิภาคเอเชีย แลกเปลี่ยนความรู้เกี่ยวกับการอพยพย้ายถิ่นข้ามพรมแดน และทำความเข้าใจโครงสร้างทางสังคมของภูมิภาคเอเชีย

Professor Maria Montt Strabucchi สำเร็จการศึกษาด้าน Latin American Cultural Studies จาก The University of Manchester สหราชอาณาจักร อาจารย์เป็นผู้เชี่ยวชาญในด้านการวิจัยเกี่ยวกับ

• Representation of “China” and “Chineseness”
• Chinese Latin American Diplomatic and Cultural Relations (Cold War, Chinese-Latin American cultural, economic and political relations, and cosmopolitanism)
• Geographical, Political and Temporal Echoes and Reformulations of Ideas and Imaginaries in Transnational Contexts.

การบรรยายนี้เปิดโอกาสให้ผู้เข้าร่วมได้ร่วมเรียนรู้ แลกเปลี่ยนมุมมอง และวิเคราะห์ประเด็นสำคัญเกี่ยวกับการอพยพของชาวจีนในอเมริกาใต้ผ่านบริบททางประวัติศาสตร์ ซึ่งจะช่วยขยายขอบเขตองค์ความรู้ไปสู่การพัฒนาความร่วมมือทางวิชาการระหว่างประเทศต่อไป

International Talk: Memory and Cultural Heritage: Chinese migration to South America in historical perspective

On 3 February 2025, the Research Institute for Languages and Cultures of Asia (RILCA), Mahidol University, in collaboration with the Global Humanities Alliance (GHA) – Public History and the Chinese Studies Program at the University of Helsinki’s Department of Cultures in Finland, organized an online lecture titled “Memory and Cultural Heritage: The Chinese Migration to South America from a Historical Perspective” by Professor Maria Montt Strabucchi from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, Núcleo Milenio ICLAC.

Professor Strabucchi shared her insights and experiences on the historical perspective of Chinese migration to South America, examining the topic through historical artifacts and layers of memory.

The talk marked the first activity of GHA-Public History, RILCA’s “Society, Culture, and Heritage in ASIA” Research Group (SCHAR), and RILCA’s Inter-Asia Engagement.
The event began with a welcome address from Associate Professor Dr. Nuntiya Doungphummes, Director of RILCA. This was followed by a brief introduction of the Global Humanities Alliance (GHA)—Public History by Professor Alexandra Vernini from Ashoka University, India. Additionally, Professor Julie Yu-Wen Chen from the Chinese Studies Program at the University of Helsinki delivered a greeting note.
